College Counseling & Dual Enrollment
Inspiration Academy offers dual enrollment coursework for qualified students, allowing them to earn both high school and college/vocational credit simultaneously. Dual enrollment provides students the opportunity to experience college-level coursework while still in high school, preparing them for their future educational and career endeavors.

Eligibility for Dual Enrollment
Beginning in their junior year, qualiifying students can enroll. To qualify, students must:
- Have a minimum 3.5 unweighted GPA
- Be recommended by two teachers and school administration
- Receive parent permission and administration approval
Students can take one dual enrollment class per semester in their junior year and as many as they would like in their senior year, as long as they fulfill all other graduation requirements. Dual enrollment is a valuable opportunity for students to expand their academic horizons while preparing for college and beyond.

Standardized Testing
As part of the college application process, most colleges and universities require students to take either the SAT or ACT. At Inspiration Academy, our College & Career Counseling department recommends that students take both standardized tests to determine which exam aligns best with their strengths and preferences. It’s also advised that juniors take the SAT or ACT at least once by December of their junior year. This provides a benchmark for their performance and gives them the opportunity to work with their school counselor to create a personalized plan for improving scores on future tests.
In addition to the SAT and ACT, students may also consider taking SAT Subject Tests, which assess knowledge in specific subject areas. Some colleges may require these tests based on the student’s chosen major or intended course of study. At Inspiration Academy, we offer SAT and ACT support through core classes to help students prepare for these important exams.
To ensure consistent practice and readiness, all students in grades 8-11 take the PSAT each year. This provides valuable preparation for the SAT and familiarizes students with the format and types of questions they will encounter.
Additional Standardized Testing Resources:
Our College Counselor is also available to provide additional test prep resources and practice exams, ensuring that students are well-equipped to succeed on their standardized tests.
