Another successful Inspiration Academy Tennis $1000 tournament has come to a close. This weekend had a change from past weekends’ whereas there was a third division for players with a UTR of 6 and under to go with the regular men’s and women’s draws.
The women’s division had a repeat champion in Marie Bouzkova. The #47 ranked WTA player won her second Inspiration Academy $1000 tournament in a row. Bouzkova looked very sharp over the weekend, and just like the first time, she won the tournament without even dropping a set. Marie played a young budding Ana Geller in the final and beat the ITF top 40 player 6-0 6-2.
The men’s division also had repeat final and a repeat winner to go with it. Andres Andrade was the victor yet again in the men’s draw. In the anticipated final between the number one and two seed yet again, Matthew Segura was seeking vengeance from last tournaments very tight defeat but Andrade was having none of it. Andres Andrade won this battle 6-3 6-3 in routine fashion and was the champion for the second consecutive weekend. Similar to Marie Bouzkova in the ladies division, Andres ran away with the title convincingly without dropping a set.
In the UTR 6 and under division, Juan Carlos Portilla was the winner of the draw. In his semifinal match, Juanky as he is known, had to overcome a tough battle with Inspiration Academy tennis player Jeremie Portner. Juan had to save a match point in this match to book a spot in the final. The final was a little less nerve-racking for Juan as he defeated young another young Inspiration Academy player Sawyer Olson in the final 6-2 6-4 to be crowned champion of the UTR 6 and Under division.
